Dr. Alexander Schmidt

Expert Advisor Climate Policy, Standards, and Ecosystem

Dr. Alexander Schmidt is an Expert Advisor in Climate Policy, Standards, and Ecosystem at Normative, the enterprise carbon platform to see emissions, plan reductions, and achieve net zero.    

Alexander has an entrepreneurial background in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and holds a PhD in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics, obtained after completing his studies in International Business and East Asian studies in Germany, China, and Japan.

In addition to his work at Normative, Alexander advises leading organizations and climate NGOs such as the Exponential Roadmap Initiative and supports them at the intersection of business, policy, and academic research. He gives university lectures in econometrics and sustainability and co-hosts the Net-Zero Policy Network with Oxford Net Zero. Alexander further holds positions as Private Sector Program Lead at the Mobilizing an Earth Governance Alliance and Supply Chain Lead at Rewired Earth. Recently nominated to join the ISO 14060 working group on Net-Zero Aligned Organizations, Dr. Schmidt is a sought-after voice in the climate dialogue and regularly speaks at international conferences such as the UN’s COP and at institutions such as Oxford University and Deloitte.
