The challenge

How do we get climate solutions to work at scale?

To halve global greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and limit global warming to 1.5C, we need to scale climate solutions that replace high-emitting activities with lower-carbon alternatives (IPCC, 2022). These solutions – for example, phasing out fossil fuels and increasing the availability of renewable energy – allow for human needs to be met while reducing the footprint of vital materials and processes our societies depend on.

Many solutions exist already, but they have not seen the widespread adoption needed to meet global climate goals. In this webinar, experts from Oxford Net Zero and Normative will explore the question: What role do policy and regulation play in scaling climate solutions to decarbonize our society?

The club

Stick around after the webinar to join the Doer’s Club

The webinar will also host the first session of the Net-Zero Policy Network’s newly founded, interactive ‘Doer’s Club’.

The Club is open to all and will provide the opportunity for Network members to meet like-minded peers and work across jurisdictions to both present new, and consolidate existing, pathways for climate action.

The first meeting of the Doer’s Club will take place for twenty minutes directly following the webinar. Members will be invited to reflect on the webinar and work collaboratively to drive action on key issues in our policy ecosystem. This will be followed by another Club meeting in the New Year.
