Google selects Normative as a grantee of the Impact Challenge on Climate
Normative has been selected as a grantee by Google.org Impact Challenge on Climate to accelerate Europe's progress toward a greener, more resilient future.
We are honored to have been selected and see this as further confirmation of our vision to make known the sustainability impact of all economic activities on the planet.
Google.org Impact Challenge on Climate funds bold ideas that aim to use technology to accelerate Europe’s progress toward a greener, more resilient future. Together with Climate-Kic, Google.org selected 11 organizations working on urgent climate issues across Europe.
Normative will receive a grant to further develop the technology needed to automate emission calculations based on companies’ existing financial data.
Today, carbon accounting and reporting is an extremely complex, time-consuming, and costly process. We want to change that. We want to democratize carbon accounting and mitigation for all companies in the world.
We’ve had an overwhelming number of applications, and we, and the expert jury, were convinced by Normative’s work. Their innovative carbon accounting engine promises to help companies reduce their climate footprint, by automating the carbon calculation process, and we’re excited about their potential to scale.
– Rowan Barnett, Head of Google.org for EMEA and APAC
Corporate activities are by far the largest contributor to climate change. Our planet needs us to take action now, and we are very happy to get started on this crucial part of the journey.
The grant from Google will also enable Normative to offer our carbon accounting engine on top of the SME Climate Hub, a UN-backed project started by International Chamber of Commerce, Exponential Roadmap Initiative and We Mean Business.
